And while we’re on the subject of L-O-V-E….
August 31st, 2009I’m thinking I may continue’s Friday’s blog theme and write about love for the entire week! Just thinkin’ about it makes me feel those familiar butterflies!
Today, I am swooning over Tad+Jess’ wedding themed invitation set! Simply adorable! Letterpress? Heck yes! The creative simplicity of this Save The Date is a keeper!

Now on to the invitation…. Does it get any sweeter than this? I didn’t think so. Gonna have to store this idea in the inspiration box for future reference.

Finally, the goodie bag. Literally. You all know that we fine folk over at JessBecause believe being green is not an option, but rather a necessity. Tad and Jess seem to share our sentiments and splurged on custom silk screened tote bags for their wedding guests. Awesome!

See more of their wedding here.

PS} Happy Friday!

{I’m imagining myself sipping a Pina Colada from a coconut I picked up from my very own backyard, which just happens to be surrounded by these surfboards! Won’t you join me?}

Vintage Love
August 28th, 2009Earlier today, a friend of mine asked if I could please be on the lookout for a vintage surfer couple for her wedding cake. Of course I said yes, and while cruising Ebay I found the sweetest topper! One day, after I say “I do” and before I take my first bite of some marriage cake {because I never say no to cake}, I would be a-okay looking at something like this, which will sit atop a delicious cheesecake. It’s so quirky and looks nothing like me or my man, but that’s exactly why I love it.

And while we’re on the subject of vintage love, I very much adore the following:

Hello, I’ve arrived. To Heaven.
August 26th, 2009I have been a fan of colored pencils, well color period, even since the time my Nana gave me a set of 4 “play” bottles of nail polish for my very monumental 3rd birthday. My mom wasn’t too thrilled, but me, I was delighted. When I saw this post, I about fainted. Seriously. My jaw dropped and I gasped. Then Josh, the other half to JessBecause {and my personal life} looked at me with a “Whaaaaa Huh?!” facial expession, and I simply showed him my Heaven. 500 pencils, 25 colors a month. Oh, yes. Again and again, yes.

Busy, so so busy!
August 25th, 2009Hi there! Yep, you’re at the right spot. You have most certainly reached JessBecause. We are so, so sorry for our lack of serving fresh doses of the Scoop. But. If you leave your name, your email address, and a brief hello…. We’ll be sure to get back to you with a great selection of recycled, upcycled, and eco-friendly goodies!
In the mean time, how about making yourself some frozen strawberry popsicles or perhaps dusting off some classics from the bookshelf or maybe just simply laying smack dab in the middle of a wildflower field? Whatever you choose to do, be sure to know that as soon as we have our new stuff up for grabs, you’ll be the first to know it!

PS} Would you like to meet the faces behind JessBecause? Well, guess what. You can! Stay tuned. {We know, we’re such a tease!}
PS} Happy Friday
August 21st, 2009There’s always time for late-summer love…..

The Summer Activity Book
August 18th, 2009For hours of weekend afternoon fun, check out Veer’s 2009 Activity Book. It rocks! Also, they have an archive of activities… you know, in case you’re just craving more and more of the good stuff! I bet you will.

Type In The Streets
August 13th, 2009When I found designer Jesse Southerland, I smiled wide. A new spin on typography. Photography taken in and around Indiana. Oh yeah, I’m a fan.

Need. More. Blueprint.
August 12th, 2009Lately, I’ve been going through magazine withdrawal. I’m just not happy with what I’m seeing in the realm of design and type. Real Simple is too simple, Ready Made is getting thinner by the issue, and I’m not entirely in love with Domino anymore. I miss the days of Blueprint! I just loved everything about that magazine…. the colors, the layout, the imagery and the type {oh the type}! I particularly love one of the serif typefaces that frequented the pages: Kursivschrift.

Side Note: Anyone wanna petition to bring Blueprint back?
